Golf Anyone?

Jarom and the boys are now golfing together. Every Saturday morning they get up early and head to the greens. It is still nice enough weather here for them to keep going. (These pictures were taken in October, but the grass is still green in December.)

Hayden

I love my little Hayden. He is such a handsome little guy. He is now doing his own hair every day and won't let me touch it. Yesterday we were at church. During sacrament meeeting he leaned over and asked if he could go to the bathroom. I told him to wait five minutes until the meeting is over. Then he asked again. I thought it might be an emergency, but still I asked him to wait. After we had the closing prayer he asked. "Is my hair all messed up?' I said it looks great. He said, "OK I guess I don't need to go to the bathroom." Then he ran off to his primary class. Silly little guy. He loves to always look his best.

Hannah's Field Trip

One of the great things about being a stay at home Mom is that you don't miss out on field trips with your kids. Last month I got to go with Hannah to the Sea Life Aquarium in Hunstanton. It was a small place, but we had lots of fun. My favorite was watching the feeding of the Sea Lions. I think Hannah's favorite was looking for treasures along the seashore. It was hard to pull her away. She would rather look for seashells than eat her lunch. We had a great time together and I am glad I got to be with my sweet daughter.

Raking the Leaves

I couldn't resist taking this picture of the boys working out in the back yard. They looked so cute dressed the same working side by side. Hampton and Hayden have a really great relationship. Hayden thinks that he wants to be just like his big brother. Anytime that you ask him what he wants he says, 'What is Hampton having/doing?" I hope they always stay close and always enjoy spending time together.

Happy Birthday Hayden

On Saturday Jarom and I surprised Hayden with a special glow in the dark bowling party with his buddies. He was totally surprised.

The bowling Jedi's

Hayden and Parker took their bowling very seriously.

Hampton, Jake and Kyle had a blast playing with the glow in the dark light sabers. (Bubble Wands.)

George Hannah Washington

Hannah had the chance to be the lead in a performance called "United We Stand." She performed at Lakenheath Elementary with other 3rd grade students. She had the chance to sing a short solo and play the part of George Washington. It was great to watch our special daughter perform so confidently.

My Ballerina

Even though our Hannah is a self proclaimed "Tom Boy" she still loves girlie things. This month she had her recital for ballet. She performed a spanish dance with her beloved fan. The recital was simple and fun. A real treat since her teacher never allows the parents to even peek into the windows of the classroom. Hannah enjoys attending ballet at the Youth Center each week. Her teacher is a wonderful, strict Russian ballerina.

On the Way to Eagle

Hampton earned his Tenderfoot badge along with four Merit Badges. Thanks to Dad's encouragement and help from his troop Hampton earned Citizenship in the Nation, Personal Management, Citizenship in and the world and of course the Dentisty Merit Badges. Way to go Hampton!

Hannah and Blue Peter

Hannah had the opportunity to be chosen to be in a British Television show called "Blue Peter." It is one of the world's longest running children's television shows. She did a segment called "What it's like to be me." They filmed what is it like to be an American Military Child living in England. The show will be aired April 29th.

They filmed her all day doing things that a typical American Child would do living on a Military Base. They started at home with our family. Then filmed her at school with her class doing the pledge of Allegence. They also filmed her at the store, at Burger King, at the dental clinic with her Dad and rollarskating with her friends.

We are so proud of our little Hannah. She did a great job and didn't complain one bit. (It was a very tiring day.) It gave us a great appreciation for movie stars and all the work that goes into a show.

Here is the link to the television show in case to want to check it out on April 30th. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/bluepeter/.

At the bus stop

Hannah talked about how she has to carry a bus pass to get on the bus and to enter the base.

Sunny London

Friday Hampton and Jarom had the day off, so we all decided to head to London. What an amazing day it turned out to be. The sun was shinning and the air was clear. (Not too common for London.) We took advantage of the clear skies and took a ride on the London Eye. We loved the view. Afterwards we had a picnic in St. James park, complete with blossom covered trees and daffodils. Then, we went to the War Time Tunnels and Winston Churchill Museum. It was amazing to think that this is where Winston Churchill had been and saved England from destruction.
Our day continued on walking through beautiful spring time flowers and to Buckingham Palace. We saw the famous guards. The day ended with the musical "Greece" at Piccadilly Circus. What an wonderful day. What beautiful weather. What a great time with the family. We are blessed to live in a beautiful country.

Hayden's Basketball Season

We discovered a new talent in Hayden. He loves basketball. Hayden just finished up a season of basketball with the youth center. We saw a fire light up in him. He has hustle and a way to move around the court like few his age. According to "his" records (they didn't keep score) his team was undefeated. The day of the final awards ceremony, Hayden came down the stairs wearing a shirt that said, "Congratulations you have been beaten by the best." We love our little basketball star.

Student of the Quarter

Hampton has had a great experience at Lakenheath Middle School. To our surprise, we receieved a call from his teacher to find out he was chosen as one of the five students of the quarter. He also earned at 4.0 for the second quarter in a row. We are so proud of him and love to watch him work so hard. We love you Hampton.

GT in Germany

Hannah is part of a special Gifted and Talented group called Oddessey of the Mind. She had the chance to compete with a team of 8 in Gilenkierken Germany. They created a play and participated in a question and answer session. Over all her group took second. We rode there with her teacher, Mr. Larsen. He was a great tour guide and showed us how to get through five different countires in one day. On our way home we stopped in Brugge Beligum and enjoyed dinner, Beligum waffles and some super sweet chocolates.

Lion King in London

Hampton and I had the chance to go to on a great field trip with Lakenheath Middle School. The day started out at the British Museum. There we saw some great artifacts from around the world. Hampton and his buddies took me on the fast tour and couldn't wait to get to the gift shop. There they found some awesome knight figures for only 2 pounds. They were so proud of themselves for finding such a good deal. Next we went to "Lion King" Musical. Wow! It was awesome. The singers and costumes were amazing. I would reccomend it to anyone. I loved being with my buddy Hampton. He is such a sweet kid and made sure to stay with me even when his buddies were interested in something else.
